ComplianceRequirement Review

Requirement Review

How to review, confirm, and dismiss generated compliance requirements after the setup wizard completes.

Overview

After the setup wizard generates your compliance plan, you enter Requirement Review mode. This is a mandatory step where you review each generated requirement and either confirm it (activate it for tracking) or dismiss it (exclude it from your plan).

The review process ensures that only relevant requirements are tracked for your practice. The compliance dashboard does not activate until the review is complete.

Category-Based Navigation

The review screen organizes requirements by compliance category. The main view shows a Category Card Grid with cards grouped into three sections:

  • Continue reviewing (amber dot) -- Categories you have started reviewing but not finished
  • Needs review (blue dot) -- Categories you have not started yet
  • Completed (green dot) -- Categories where all tasks have been addressed

Each category card shows:

  • The category name and icon
  • The number of tasks reviewed out of the total
  • A progress indicator

Click a category card to enter the stepped review wizard for that category.

Review Progress

A progress bar at the top of the review screen tracks your overall progress across all categories. The header shows the number of completed categories out of the total (e.g., "3 of 6 categories").

Stepped Review Wizard

Within each category, requirements are presented one at a time in a stepped wizard. The wizard handles three types of steps:

Auto-Compliant Steps

Tasks that are automatically managed by connected equipment are shown first. You simply acknowledge them -- no configuration needed. These tasks are auto-confirmed.

Group Steps

When multiple equipment units share the same requirement (e.g., weekly spore test applied to 3 autoclaves), they appear as a group. You can confirm or dismiss the entire group at once.

Individual Steps

Standard requirements are shown one at a time with full details.

For each step, you can:

  • View the regulatory body (e.g., CDC, state dental board)
  • Read the requirement description
  • Click View guide if a detailed compliance guide is available
  • Click Ask AI for AI-powered compliance guidance

Review Actions

Confirming a Task

When you confirm a task, a modal appears where you set:

  • Start date -- When the first instance of this task should be due
  • Assignee -- Which staff member is responsible
  • Frequency -- The recurrence schedule (may be pre-set based on the requirement)

Click Confirm to activate the task. The task moves to "confirmed" status and will appear on the compliance dashboard.

Dismissing a Task

When you dismiss a task, a popover appears where you select a reason:

ReasonDescription
Tracked elsewhereYou track this requirement in another system
Not applicableThis requirement does not apply to your practice
Third partyA third-party service handles this requirement
OtherAny other reason (free-text note)

You can optionally add a note explaining the dismissal. Click Dismiss to remove the task from your active plan.

Undoing a Review Decision

If you navigate back to a previously reviewed step, you can undo a confirmation or dismissal, returning the task to "pending_review" status.

Review Statuses

Each generated task has one of three review statuses:

StatusMeaning
pending_reviewNot yet reviewed -- awaiting your decision
confirmedConfirmed and activated for compliance tracking
dismissedExcluded from your compliance plan

Completing the Review

When all tasks across all categories have been addressed (confirmed or dismissed), a celebration screen appears showing:

  • Number of tasks confirmed
  • Number of tasks dismissed
  • Number of auto-handled tasks

Click Go to Compliance Dashboard to finalize the review and activate your compliance plan. The setup status changes from "review_pending" to "completed" and the full compliance dashboard becomes available.

Starting Over

If you want to discard all generated tasks and restart the wizard, click Start over with a new plan at the bottom of the category grid. This requires confirmation and will delete all generated tasks.
